Senior Electrical Engineer – Substation Design (Power Delivery)

Responsibilities

• Develop Substation layout drawings including plan and elevations, yard layouts, grounding details, and control building layouts.
• Create Substation one lines, three lines, aux AC Power Systems, DC Schematics, and relay panel layouts for new and existing substations.
• Perform engineering calculations and prepare reports.
• Prepare specifications for substation equipment and components.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A professional engineering license (PE) is strongly preferred or the ability to sit for the exam within 6 months.
• Advanced Degree is strongly preferred.
• 10 years of progressive experience in design and engineering with power distribution and/or high voltage substations.
• Hands-on experience in AUTOCAD & MicroStation is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards and electrical distribution systems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Managerial and leadership skills.
• Experience on renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar & Energy Storage) will be an asset.
• EIT or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire.
