Director of BESS Development

Carter Maddox is exclusively representing one of the fastest growing Battery Energy Storage developers in the US market.

We are searching for a highly talented Director of Project Development, with a focus on the NYISO region.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a pipeline of Battery Energy Storage assets.
• Lead diligence activities including vetting projects for environmental, financial, interconnection, permitting, and technical constraints.
• Negotiate with vendors to complete various, development related scopes of work.
• Negotiate permits, tax and other project related agreements.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, project partners and other stakeholders.
• Prioritize work to meet project deadlines, budgets and goals.

Relevant Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Energy, Land Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience developing utility-scale Battery Energy Storage projects
• Experience leading projects through the NYISO interconnection process.
• Experience negotiating CUPs, SUPs, tax abatements/IRBs and other key project agreements.
