Salary: Up to $300,000 + performance-based bonuses

Location: Remote with regular nationwide travel

Our client is one of the largest self-performing EPC construction companies in the utility-scale solar market, generating over $1bn in annual revenue. They are now seeking a highly driven Senior Vice President of Sales to lead their business growth strategy, expand their market reach, and secure major construction contracts with key players in the industry, including developers and IPPs.

The EPC Construction Industry & Utility-Scale Solar

The EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry has played a pivotal role in the growth of utility-scale solar energy.

As the renewable energy sector continues to expand, EPC contractors are essential in delivering end-to-end solar projects for developers, utilities, and Independent Power Producers (IPPs). With the demand for sustainable energy soaring, the need for experienced professionals to lead sales and business development strategies in this field has never been more critical.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business growth strategy to drive sales for utility-scale solar construction projects.
  • Leverage existing industry contacts and build new relationships with developers, IPPs, and other key stakeholders to secure profitable contracts.
  • Improve and expand upon existing client agreements and partnerships to maximize long-term business opportunities.
  • Contribute to pre-construction activities such as bid writing, contract negotiation, and procurement to ensure successful project wins.
  • Regularly travel to meet clients, visit potential site locations, attend trade shows, and represent the company in the industry.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives and growth targets.

Required Experience

  • Extensive experience in sales and business development in the utility-scale solar EPC or renewable energy construction sector.
  • Proven track record of winning major construction contracts with developers and IPPs.
  • Strong network of industry contacts, with the ability to confidently engage with key decision-makers.
  • Deep understanding of the utility-scale solar market, including regulatory frameworks, project financing, and construction processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining a high level of motivation and focus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the U.S. to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
