Title: Senior Project Manager
Compensation: $100K-$140K + Bonus
Location: Remote work schedule, but preferably near one of our California offices (Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Ventura)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager for environmental consultancy services in the renewables and utilities sector. This role involves managing the preparation of environmental documents (CEQA/NEPA), conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring regulatory compliance for renewable energy, electric transmission, and other energy projects. The Senior Project Manager will lead projects from planning through implementation, working closely with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents for renewable energy, electric transmission, and energy generation projects
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and managing client timelines and expectations
- Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals, estimating project costs and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements throughout project lifecycle.
- Manage project teams and coordinate with stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and clients.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, and provide regular progress updates to senior management and client stakeholders.
- Train and oversee junior staff in CEQA/NEPA processes and environmental planning requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and implement effective risk management strategies.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, and effectively manage project expectations.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in environmental consulting, focused on project management in the renewables or utilities sectors
- Knowledge of SEQA and NEPA system standards
- Experience with regulatory compliance, environmental compliance, and energy management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Willing/able to travel for projects as needed.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
