We are seeking a highly skilled Charging Station Design Engineer to join our innovative team focused on the development of cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. As a Charging Station Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing EV charging stations, ensuring that they meet both current and future demands of the rapidly growing electric mobility market. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers, to deliver efficient and scalable charging solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Charging Station Design: Lead the design and development of Commercial Fleet EV charging depots utilizing DC fast chargers and associated components such as power electronics and connectors.

System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of charging stations with power grids (Experience with Primary voltage a plus), renewable energy sources, and vehicle communication protocols.

CAD and BlueBeam: Create detailed site layouts, single line diagrams, and initial design of charging systems using CAD software. Lead the conceptualization of charging station designs.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure that designs comply with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., UL, CE, IEC) for safety, performance, and environmental impact.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, as well as external partners, to ensure successful deployment of charging infrastructure.

Project Management: Manage design projects from concept to CD-30 and site development.

Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
Qualifications:

Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in designing EV charging infrastructure.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software and electrical design tools.
- Deep understanding of site design, equipment placement optimization, power electronics, grid connections, and energy management systems.
- Knowledge of EV charging standards and protocols (NACS, CCS, OCPP).
- Experience with thermal management and protection systems for high-power electronics.

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Certifications: Relevant certifications in power electronics, CAD drafting, renewable energy systems, civil parking lot design and EV technology are advantageous.
