A Snapshot of Your Day

You are diving into problem solving mode while keeping the teams on track and oversee the delivery of the overall project. In a typical week you are representing the project status to clients, management, and other stakeholders. During a safety walk on site, you engage with the staff on all levels in order to ensure safe delivery. You are in full control, be it during our software development, the engineering phases or at the construction sites, pushing the project all the way towards successful completion.

In a typical day you meet numerous people and engage with them to ensure their support for your project. It is you combining the different project management methods in just the right balance between process and results for the best of the project.


How Youll Make an Impact

  • Full Responsibility for managing large EPC Projects in HVDC Business (e.g. cost, time, functionality, customer satisfaction)
  • Reporting to the responsible Business Manager, managing the overall project comprising of packages ranging from HV equipment, machinery equipment to civil and installation packages, throughout all the phases from design, construction, manufacturing, installation to commissioning
  • Fully responsible for Risk, Opportunity and Issue Management by devising suitable strategies for risk mitigation
  • Responsible for influencing formulation of the necessary contracts, negotiating with stakeholders on Change Requests and incorporate them into contracts as well as the subsequent contract and claim management
  • Handling all Project Excellence@Siemens Energy relevant planning elements and milestone work results setting up and maintaining the Project Management Plan
  • Managing customer expectations and requirements with respect to functionality and overall quality of the provided solution
  • Ensuring efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders as well as targeted and full communication within the project team
  • Setting up a framework to ensure regular checks of the compliance in the project


What You Bring

  • University degree within electrical engineering with 10+ years of professional experience. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level and vice versa.
  • Long-term experience in project management with track record and tools as well as experience in Transmission and complex EPC Business
  • Leadership experience incl. personnel management, development, and team motivation
  • Proven EHS Leadership and advanced know-how in Compliance Regulations
  • Expert knowledge of internal and international rules and regulations relevant for Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Asset Management and Global Procurement
  • Willingness to travel up to 30 % domestically and internationally
  • If not already located in the Raleigh, NC area, the candidate must be willing to relocate
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
