The role

The Commissioning Technician is dedicated to the meticulous setup, testing, and integration of Power Electronics inverters, ensuring they meet project specifications and operate at peak performance. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of photovoltaic systems by conducting thorough testing, executing precise commissioning procedures, and providing expert diagnosis and troubleshooting. The technician is also responsible for documenting all commissioning activities and imparting essential training and support to teams and clients, thereby upholding Power Electronics commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

As a Commissioning Technician, this position will require 100% travel through different States. Weekends included. Besides salary and bonuses, company will cover for all costs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Start-up and commissioning of solar inverters at customers’ photovoltaic solar plants.
  • Configure Power Electronics’ (PE) inverters according to project requirements, including setting up communication protocols, grid settings, and operational parameters.
  • Conduct testing of PE inverters to ensure proper functionality and performance, including voltage checks, frequency measurements, and power output testing under various operating conditions.
  • Integrate PE inverters into the overall photovoltaic system, including connecting inverters to solar panels, batteries (if applicable), and electrical distribution systems, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Execute commissioning procedures for PE inverters, which may include system startup, calibration of sensors, verification of protection functions, and synchronization with the electrical grid (if applicable).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to PE inverters, such as communication errors, electrical faults, or performance deviations, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems and ensure system reliability.
  • Prepare and submit accurate records of commissioning activities sucha as Work Reports (using Power OnSupport), including test results, inverter configurations, and commissioning reports, to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards as well as JSA Reports.
  • Provide training and technical support to installation teams, maintenance personnel, and end-users on inverter operation, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance requirements.
  • Travel based on operations demands. 90% of the time.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $106,000.00 per year
