What does a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer II do at Fluence?

  • The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer II will perform as a member of a dynamic software engineering team developing the infrastructure necessary to support energy storage systems. This person will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA methodologies, a deep understanding of infrastructure technologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in testing the configuration of the build infrastructure (primarily Linux).
  • 7+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python and C/C++.
  • 7+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
  • Experience in testing remote access VPN, site-to-site VPN, Cisco Routers, Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Switches, SD-WAN, Meraki.
  • Experience in infrastructure-related testing methods such as vulnerability/reliability testing.
  • Experience in working closely with other team members/stakeholders to understand system requirements and design effective test strategies.
  • Ability to perform structured analysis on system architecture and security documentation.
  • Clear understanding and ability to create/review network diagrams.
  • Desire to participate, define, and adhere to best practices for testing and validation.
  • Perform validation testing and complete root cause analysis of possible failures in components, subsystems, and product-level systems.
  • Experience in developing test plans and procedures to assess adherence to requirements.
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills for communicating ideas to both managers and other technical leads.
  • Work with external suppliers certifications, test documents, and requirements are all up to date.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide solutions.

  • Experience assessing existing products.
