Overview:
The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.
Stryten Energy is looking for Maintenance Supervisors in the Salina, KS location! We are looking for a self-starter with excellent management, problem solving, communication and project management skills. Must be able to effectively organize, direct and control all aspects of maintenance shift operation with emphasis on safety, budgeting, team building and department training. Work effectively with plant engineering and all other departments to establish operational efficiency of production equipment, which relate to elimination of recurring equipment issues, continuous improvement, equipment modular quick change and setup reduction.
Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours, and mandatory overtime may be required; weekend work is a part of all schedules.
Schedule:
- C Shift: Thurs-Sat, every other Wed; 5:25 am to 6:00 pm

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to properly organize, direct and control skilled labor in the areas of equipment repair and safety training.
- Must have knowledge of computerized maintenance systems to effectively manage all aspects of the maintenance operation. i.e. MRO, work order system, and Preventive/Predictive Operation.
- Must have the ability to implement and sustain elimination of equipment recurring issue program.
- Comply with local, state, and federal guidelines as specified in codes.
- Comply with plant safety, healthy and personnel policies.
- Meet budget requirements with regard to manning and other department cost..
- Hands- on approach required at times in assisting subordinates at meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to identify opportunities that ultimately reduce maintenance cost.
- Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
- Follow Lean Manufacturing procedures.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional standing, sitting, walking, bending and twisting.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects, and assist in moving machinery to and from production floor.
- Must be able to work in high places, deep pits, and be able to work in any weather conditions.
Equipment Used:
- Various hand and power tools, welders, grinders, torch, mill, and lathe
- Must possess required computer skills to properly and effectively perform job. Required computer skills relate to Microsoft office programs i.e. Word, Excel and Power Point. Other computer skills relate to maintenance management programs.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills Required:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Management preferred.
- Will consider a minimum of 6 years experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance operations OR a combination of education and experience.
- Must have exceptional organizational skill, must have multi-tasking skills, must be a team-oriented person with exceptional communication skills, and must be a self-starter.
