Solar Installer Job Summary
We are seeking Solar Installers to join our team. Our ideal candidate has excellent physical stamina for lifting and mounting solar panels on our clients’ roofs and knows how to use power tools for constructing the racking for the panels and configuring the wiring. There is room for advancement, so leadership skills are a plus! A background in roofing or any systems that use electricity is preferred, but a minimum requirement of general construction experience is a must.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install/seal roof attachments, equipment racking supports, and solar panels
  • Perform all construction tasks per the manufacturers installation guidelines
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (DC and AC)/installing raceways around residential applications: roofs, attics, walls
  • Perform site survey activities
  • Review job installation plan with Crew Lead
  • Assist with project inventory tracking
  • Prepare, load, and organize installation vehicles. Warehouse organization required
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and

safety

  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and technical service equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Drivers License and have a personal vehicle to drive to

the company warehouse.

  • Willing to travel.
  • Reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in roofing or construction
  • Working experience with conduit/bending conduit
  • Basic knowledge of residential electrical and structural systems
  • Experience working with batteries is preferred
  • Residential solar experience is preferred
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Hiring Pay Structure: Install Crews

Lead Electrician:
Tier 1 – Wires inverter and main
Tier 2 – Does the above and install batteries
Tier 3 – Does all the above and performs MPU, Derates, LSTs and other electrical work
^ We can scale pay from $22-$25 an hour based on tier

Pay: $22 an hour, 0.02 cents a watt installed, $1 for every panel on a job where final inspection passes a first-time attempt. With 30-40 KW installs a week
Salary is ~$85,000-$125,000 a year.

Roof Lead:
$20 an hour, 0.015 cents a watt installed $1 for every panel on a job where final inspection passes first time attempt. With 30-40 KW installs a week
Salary is ~$65,000-$90,000 a year.

Senior Roofer:
$18 an hour, 0.005 cents a watt installed $1 for every panel on a job where final inspection passes first time attempt. With 30-40 KW installs a week
Salary is ~$45,000-$70,000 a year.

Junior Roofer:
$17 an hour, 0.005 cents a watt installed $1 for every panel on a job where final inspection passes first time attempt. With 30-40 KW installs a week
Salary is ~$40,000-$65,000 a year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
