Summary:
The Sales Director (SD) is a quota-carrying, direct sales role that is assigned a portfolio of customers geographically for whom they must manage all current and future opportunities. Powins success will be determined by repeat sales, and the SD has the critical role of nurturing these relationships to produce dramatic growth of the companys backlog. The sale of Powin products and services is a long-term sale, therefore the SD must be an exemplary relationship manager, always being mindful of the goals and aspirations of the customer. Responsible for co-developing the strategy and associated tactics for closing Powin sales, for their assigned region. Responsibilities include identifying the opportunities and applications for Powin products and services.
The Sales Director must be an effective contributor to the customers project team in the pre-contract phase, and remain in frequent, constructive contact with their point of contact throughout the project to ensure that the customer experience is best in class.
The Sales Director underpins all the preceding expertise by being highly organized with a strong baseline understanding of project finance and has an understanding in finance modeling, contributing to the customers goal of achieving a highly profitable project. Though supported by a back-office team that provides procurement, contract and technical support, the SD quarterbacks the sale and has robust leadership and internal team-building skills. The SD has a deep interest in energy market trends, energy storage and grid services economics, and startup cultures, which fuels them to secure successful bid responses and sales. Lastly, the SD has an extremely high standard for work product and the customer experience overall; they insure only top-quality work reaches their customer.
