What You Can Expect

As our Senior Developer, you will be pivotal in advancing ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storages (ENGIE DSS) energy storage strategy and expanding our pipeline, which currently includes over 500 MW of active distributed storage projects. In this role, you will leverage your strategic and solutions-oriented mindset to “hit the ground running” with our extensive mid-stage development pipeline. You will also have the autonomy to design and implement market entry strategies, contributing to a key strategic pillar of the DSS business. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a positive and professional attitude. This role can be based in either Houston, TX, or Chicago, IL, and reports to the Senior Advisor, Business Development.

  • Pipeline Development: Develop and manage a high-quality pipeline of energy storage assets that add value to ENGIE, the distribution grid, and ENGIEs customers
  • Project Management: Lead all development activities from feasibility to construction, including site control, interconnection, permitting, and commercialization, while managing various project stakeholders
  • Strategy and Advocacy: Develop go-to-market strategies for distributed energy storage, including policy development and advocacy in select states, and build the business case for early-stage pipeline development
  • Internal Collaboration and Tools: Create internal tools, methods of analysis, and investment criteria for distributed storage, working with ENGIE stakeholders to ensure best practices and informed strategies.
  • International Collaboration: Collaborate with ENGIE’s international storage development teams to align and inform the Group’s global storage strategy

What Youll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Sciences or related field

  • A minimum of five (5) years of renewables and/or energy storage project development or related experience
  • You are knowledgeable in power markets, including wholesale markets, renewables, and/or energy storage
  • You are detail-oriented and self-motivated, capable of working effectively both individually and as part of a team
  • You have a general understanding of renewable energy and battery storage market trends and their impacts on solar and storage project development
  • You are comfortable engaging with technical subject matter experts and discussing technical topics with internal and external stakeholders, primarily involving energy storage system capabilities and limitations
  • You are results-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment
  • You are proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM tools, with superior verbal and written communication skills, and can present to a wide range of audiences, including local project stakeholder groups, government officials, and corporate leaders

Compensation

Salary Range: $74,500 $109,230 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus
