Department Overview
Engineering, Planning & Strategy will play a leading role in showing California and the world how PG&E will meet Californias decarbonization and resilience goals while improving safety, affordability and reliability. EP&S will have asset management responsibilities for our gas system and electric infrastructure, and will integrate inputs from across the enterprise to define our multi-year capital plan. EP&S will enable our coworkers on the front lines to have the plans, tools, and equipment they need, so we can do the right work at the right time.
Position Summary
This position is represented by Engineers & Scientists of California (ESC) subject to collective bargaining.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland General Office based on business need.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The wage range for this position is $36.20 – $46.66 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
Under direction, performs duties substantially identical to those of a Design Drafter as training for advancement to such position
Works under direction from design studies, sketches, computations, or other data of moderate complexity
Performs, under direction, general drafting or mapping work of a moderately difficult nature frequently requiring a search for data and coordination of information
Does simple engineering computing work under direction
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
Two years of drafting training in high school and junior college or the equivalent in education and experience with a demonstrated drafting aptitude
Desired:
Experience in drafting
AA Degree
Two years of drafting training or the equivalent in education and experience with a demonstrated drafting aptitude
Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software
Willingness to work in a radiation-controlled area
Competency in providing direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done
Competency in relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
Knowledge of engineering codes and standards as needed to perform at the job level
Ability to work independently with limited oversight
Ability to read and understand information presented in graphics, maps, schematics, or diagrams as needed to perform at the job level
Additional consideration may be given to candidates that reside within 50 miles of the headquarters

External and Hiring Hall applicants: Must qualify on the Physical Test Battery (PTB) and Technical Test (TECH) exams prior to interviewing
