DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team. This role will be based in the Bedminster, NJ office and is eligible for relocation.

This role does not provide VISA sponsorship.

Our Team

As an electrical engineer at DEPCOM, you will be able to grow your experience, understanding and application of the various disciplines of electrical engineering including DC, Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) design for Solar and BESS power plants. Direct mentorship with hands on access to the development and engineering design of all aspects of the project, expediting your experience and knowledge of the industry.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Designer to help design and prepare Electrical Design Packages including utility and industrial scale solar projects, energy storage projects, and Repowering projects/services
  • Prepare design related reports and calculations (load flow, grounding, protective design coordination, arc flash, ampacity calculations, etc.)
  • Prepare product specifications and procurement support for your assigned projects
  • Prepare bills of materials and scope of work documents for subcontract execution
  • Support construction team during execution by responding to the owner, subcontractor, or field RFI’s
  • Working in AutoCAD for material take-offs or drafting edits when necessary
  • Conduct cost/benefit analyses for various cable constructions, grounding schemes, and major equipment
  • Execute designs in accordance with DEPCOM standard engineering procedures and deliverables
  • Coordinate with the project delivery teams to ensure success by providing engineering support through the lifecycle
  • Opportunity to interface with external clients
  • Opportunity to travel up to 15% to job sites as needed

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Previous engineering and design experience
  • Experience and understanding of electrical design calculations, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash (AC and DC), ground grid analysis, and ampacity calculations
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code and NFPA 70E
  • Experience with power systems software suites such as SKM, AmpCalc, CymCap, GroundMAT, etc.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Photovoltaic (PV) solar experience or general EPC experience
  • Experience in energy storage applications or understanding how to integrate into utility scale solar
  • EIT certificate, with aspirations for PE license in the future

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 – $110,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
