A Snapshot of Your Day

The Solution Architects role is to strategically design and develop in-house software solutions that support core organizational functions and assure their high availability. This individual will gain organizational commitment for all systems and software plans, as well as evaluate and select all technologies required to complete those plans. In addition, the Solution Architect provides technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level.

How Youll Make an Impact

  • Ensure that proposed and existing software architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Implement software development projects following Agile methodologies. (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Develop, document, and communicate well-defined plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
  • Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems. (where applicable)
  • Document the companys existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; propose improvements and/or alternative solutions.
  • Confer with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.
  • Model business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.

What You Bring

  • Masters degree in computer science or information systems with at least 8 years of experience in software development, possessing expertise across all phases of the SDLC OR Bachelors degree in computer science or information systems with 10 years of experience in Software, possessing expertise across all phases of the SDLC.
  • Extensive experience in designing and developing software solutions on container platforms like OpenShift (or Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of Architectural patterns and good understanding of cloud platforms like AWS / GCP.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft dotnet technologies (C#, .NET core) with latest front-end technologies like Angular, etc.
  • Experienced knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies with hands-on experience with MS-SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, and other databases.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience with cloud-native development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with application deployments on Citrix Delivery Platform.
  • Good understanding of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

This job is based in Olean, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html.The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $88,600 – $164,500, and the annual incentive target is 10% based on base salary. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on everyones qualifications.
