Nikola Energy is looking for a highly talented and experienced Hydrogen Logistics Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development and management of our liquid and gaseous hydrogen network. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and reliable transportation and distribution of hydrogen across our network, which includes both domestic and international operations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering effort in the hydrogen economy and sustainable transportation.

- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the transportation and distribution of liquid and gaseous hydrogen, ensuring timely delivery to meet production and customer demand.
- Collaborate with suppliers, transport companies, and internal stakeholders to manage the supply chain for hydrogen, including procurement, storage, and distribution.
- Strategically locate hydrogen supply sources near stations and customers, reducing distance from production source to station network.
- Deliver more on-site storage, reducing number of overall trips to the station and lowering distribution costs.
- Develop and implement optimized transportation routes and schedules to minimize costs, e.g., demurrage and improve efficiency in the hydrogen network.
- Ensure all transportation and logistics operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, including negotiation of contracts and performance monitoring.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the transportation and storage of hydrogen, including potential supply chain disruptions.
- Utilize data to monitor performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead or participate in projects related to the expansion and enhancement of Nikolas hydrogen logistics network, including new facility launches and network expansions.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols for handling, storing, and transporting hydrogen. Provide training to logistics personnel on hydrogen safety and logistics best practices.
- Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and customer success, to ensure seamless integration of logistics operations within the broader hydrogen network.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or relevant experience. Advanced degree a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, preferably within the hydrogen or energy sector.
- Strong understanding of hydrogen production, storage, and transportation. Familiarity with the unique challenges of managing liquid and gaseous hydrogen.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
- Domestic travel as required
