Position Overview: The Alliance for Clean Energy New York (ACE NY) seeks a full-time Clean Energy Markets Analyst for hybrid employment in our Albany, N.Y. office, although with the potential for a remote location within New York state.
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), which operates New Yorks grid and electricity market, has a major impact on the market opportunities for clean energy technologies, such as land-based and offshore wind power; grid-scale, community-scale, and distributed solar energy; battery storage, hydroelectric, and fuel cells. The NYISO also has a key role in both reliability and transmission planning and investment. As such, ACE NY seeks a professional to represent our interests before the NYISO, participate in the various committee meetings and stakeholder processes of the NYISO, develop filings and policy statements on NYISO issues (to be filed at the NYISO, at FERC, or at the NYS PSC), and to communicate activities and developments at the NYISO back to our member organizations and companies. Although the top issues for ACE NY members are the interconnection process for renewable energy and storage, and transmission planning and investments, these issues can change from time to time.
In addition to tracking developments at the NYISO, the Clean Energy Markets Analyst will support ACE NY activities and events, contribute to our weekly member update, and blog postings, and assist the ACE NY team with other tasks, as defined by the organizations needs and the Analysts skills and work experience.
