Job Functions (Essential)
Essential:
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilitys equipment
  • Provide emergency, corrective and unscheduled repairs by troubleshooting diagnosing and interpreting failure causes on production, equipment., facility support system, and test bench equipment
  • Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment, whilst continually striving to learn new skills.
  • Responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks on facility, infrastructure systems, production machining and test bench equipment on a daily and scheduled basis
  • Responsible for working knowledge of a range of plant facilities and equipment, including PLCs control systems, fully and semi-automated machining and assembly lines, VFD drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, process water and fuel delivery systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Advise operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with mechanical equipment and components
  • Inform appropriate management and line mechanics of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor such as: general maintenance duties, assisting in installation of new equipment, demo of old processes/equipment, facility repairs, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and comply with safety regulations to help ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in maintenance and in other production related areas
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Required:

  • Completion of apprenticeship or training program and 3 years previous experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
  • Knowledge in skills such as welding, pipe fitting, lubrications, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, carpentry and use of tool room machines
  • Mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, carpentry, and repair of production machines
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment, as well as working alone
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematic and technical drawings, layouts, or other visual aids
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite and SAP
  • This position is scheduled for the Off Shift which starts at 8PM and ends at 6:30AM, Sunday through Wednesday. Additional hour/days worked are eligible for overtime pay. Initially training will occur on off shift from 6AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Thursday. You should have the flexibility to change shifts and occasionally be on call when production requires.

Preferred:

  • Good knowledge of industrial HVAC system, (certification is a benefit)
  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturing
  • Knowledge of MTU America products, policies, and procedures
