Title: Solar Sales Consultant

Solar Sales Consultant Position:

At VES, the Solar Sales Consultant is primarily responsible for presenting solar design proposals to homeowners in the community and helping them transition to using clean energy. These design proposals are typically presented in-home and may also include other add-ons such as energy efficiency packages or a new roof. Additionally, Solar Sales Consultants are responsible for generating their own leads and maintaining back-end administrative duties.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position; therefore, the type of person who excels in this role is self-sufficient and enjoys working independently, has excellent communication skills, is an expert at managing their time, and values giving the best customer service experience possible. This role is a good fit for anyone with previous direct sales experience who is confident in generating their own leads.

Responsibilities:

  • Use call, email, text, and other various communication forms to identify the validity and potential of leads
  • Door-to-door lead generation and appointment setting in local communities
  • Closing High-Ticket ($20k-$100k+) Solar Projects and submitting all necessary paperwork in a timely manner
  • Learn and use CRM and other tools of the job
  • Track Key Performance Indicators
  • Communicate with your team on a daily basis
  • Be a proficient solar professional with an understanding of all aspects of the product/s
  • Keeping Client Pipeline Organized & Up to date
  • Manage a hybrid work schedule with time divided between lead generation, running consultation appointments, and completing virtual responsibilities.
  • Actively work 5 days a week, including Saturdays and one day during the week. The company is off on Sundays.
  • Attend virtual/in-person team meetings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12 noon.
  • Represent Virginia Energy Solutions in an esteemed manner.

Pay:

  • Uncapped commission-based sales:

– Average sale commission is between $1,500 – $5,000 per close

– The average annual compensation for reps in our company is between $132,000 – $250,000/year (3 closes/month)

  • Additional incentives for maintaining daily and weekly production goals (up to an additional $10,000 per year)
  • 1099-contractor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Access to a smartphone and a presentation device (such as a laptop or tablet)
  • Reliable transportation
  • 18+ Eligible to work in United States
  • 1 year of previous door-to-door or cold calling experience required
  • 1 year of previous sales experience
  • Problem Solving – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem-solving situations.
  • Adaptability – Adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
