This position is responsible for sourcing, identifying, and delivering renewable natural gas opportunities to generate and enhance the profitability of various UGI Energy Services initiatives, as well as to coordinate and conduct activities that will grow the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify New RNG Margin Sources and Opportunities existing asset optimization/expansion, acquisitions, partnerships, new asset development, new business/product lines.
- Manage the implementation of RNG opportunities:
- Negotiate and finalize key project agreements, such as feedstock supply, transportation, and interconnects.
- Acquisitions: Perform due diligence, prepare financial proformas, lead negotiations and finalize agreements.
- Capital Project Development: Coordinate with Engineering & Project Management in developing cost estimates/schedules, prepare financial proformas, assist in project development, negotiate contracts with customers/counterparties, monitor project development.
- Collaborate with Operations teams to oversee the implementation of approved projects.
- Prepare and present viable opportunities to management for review and approval.
- Manage relationships with partnerships, functioning as the primary contact. Identify and mitigate issues by managing internal processes and ensuring other parts of the organization, such as Operations, Accounting, Engineering, etc. meet the partnerships expectations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Overall understanding of the US natural gas, and related energy businesses, including supply, trading, logistics and operations. Understanding of alternative energy (i.e., RNG, Solar) concepts, including production and environmental attribute monetization.
- Proficiency in financial modeling of capital projects and acquisition targets.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent communications skills and capable of conducting presentations to executive management and leading executive management planning sessions.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with proven ability to build and lead internal teams, develop and nurture 3rd-party relationships, and oversee the development of multiple projects.
- Degree in Engineering, Finance or Business-related field.
- 3-5 years of commercial and/or business development experience.
