Primary purpose:
To provide training evolutions and standardized progression testing for all craft throughout the existing Tallgrass footprint. They will be responsible for meeting with new hire employees providing the introduction of OQ expectations as per policy and procedure, initial logins, EWN system familiarity, training opportunities, and timelines, providing Performance Evaluations as requested assisting area Subject Matter Experts and Performance Evaluators. These tasks can be performed for initial qualification, periodic training, and requalification efforts to establish and maintain qualified staff in the field. Training Coordinators will have direct work experience in developing and implementing technical training courses and curricula to ensure field personnel is trained and qualified to perform DOT PHMSA-covered tasks. Responsible for the preparation and support of PHMSA inspections.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and delivery of training materials on company products, processes, and technologies.
- Selects appropriate training aids and prepare lesson plans relevant to training material.
- Monitors training personnel records to ensure employees have met all company training requirements for company and regulatory compliance.
- Instruct all team members to perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
- Lead efforts to develop and implement changes to provide standardized progression testing and uniform training.
- Lead efforts to develop a curriculum to reflect company assets and products.
- Demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and standardized excellence.
- Work with various departments to ensure Tallgrass is compliant.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Will maintain Operator Qualification on all assigned covered tasks as determined by direct Supervisor.
- Instruct the performance of, and proper documentation of preventative maintenance checks on company equipment.
- Instruct the performance of, and proper documentation of Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on company equipment.
- Instruct the performance of, and proper documentation of various tests, measurements, and surveys to ensure the efficient operation multiple systems, facilities, and/or areas of responsibility.
- Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
- Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.
- Participate in federal inspections when needed.
- Will be actively engaged with the OQ task list process for new construction assets, new commodities, and acquisition assets in hydrogen, ammonia, CO2, and other products related to decarbonization.
- Actively support TopSafe and the regions safety program initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Speak, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.

Minimum requirements
Education:
- Associates degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline. A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in crude oil and/or natural gas pipeline systems operations may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- Direct work experience developing and implementing technical training courses and curricula.
- Working experience with DOT part 192 and/or 195 as it pertains to Operator Qualification.
- Good record of safe work practices.
- Working knowledge and experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits.
- Working knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
- Working knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems.
- Knowledge and experience with high-pressure gas, processing equipment, pumps, and reciprocating or gas turbine engines and compressors.
- Knowledge of company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
- Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
