Logistics: Manager of estimating is a remote role.
Special Note: Recent utility scale renewables estimating is mandatory. Unfortunately the client will not consider applicants without this experience within the last few years. Other non-estimating work in renewables will also not suffice.

Our client is an established utility infrastructure and construction company, specializing in the utility scale solar space. This is a direct hire role, not a contractor position. Business is booming and this client is adding to the team and now needs various senior estimator positions including those with specialties in Solar, DG, & BESS. Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate cost estimates for utility-scale solar projects
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information and data to prepare estimates
- Analyze technical drawings and specifications to identify project requirements and constraints
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings in project estimates
- Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and leadership team
- Provide clear and detailed supporting documentation for estimates, including all assumptions and justifications
- Review and validate estimates prepared by other estimators
- Develop and maintain a cost database for future reference and use
- Monitor industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in estimating to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction or solar industry estimating, with a focus on utility-scale solar projects
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex information to clients and leadership team
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks and mentor junior staff
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and codes related to solar projects
Requirements:
- 10-20% travel is possible. From time to time it will be necessary to go to development sites across the US.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary DOE, generally between $140-160k (those with renewables experience will generally be on higher end of scale).
