Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Construction Project Developer/Engineer to join our Mid-Atlantic Energy Services Construction Team at Trane Technologies. We are looking for a Senior Project Developer that has the ability to plan, design and develop various construction projects. Specific tasks include scope of work development, cost estimating, working with energy engineers to calculate energy savings, supporting our sales teams, participating in contract negotiations, and ensuring the constructability of proposed projects. This job demands not only knowledge of building systems, energy production and consumption, and construction, but also requires strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Coordinates and develops new projects, from concept to production, with Subcontractors / Partners, direct Architects and Engineers during the design build process
  • Develop Construction Budgets, Plans, Schedules and evaluates Safety requirements and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and controls.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and energy / building codes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with clients.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel 50%-70% of the time within the Mid-Atlantic Region (Pennsylvania, Northern West Virginia, Western Maryland/Baltimore, and Southern New Jersey.)
  • Professional certifications, such as PMP, LEED AP, PE, CEM or CEA are highly desirable.

Skills Required/Experience Requirements

  • Mechanical and Electrical system design.
  • Must be able to interface with customers, vendors, and personnel in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in energy engineering and/or project management for $5M+ performance contracting projects is strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conversation measures (ECM) and decarbonization.
  • Working knowledge of energy rebate programs, utility tariffs and utility bill analysis.
  • Ability to audit existing building systems and recommend solutions to improve.
  • Ability to read building drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Understanding of construction means and methods and ability to communicate with subcontractors to scope a comprehensive project.

Education Requirements

  • Four-year degree in engineering or applied science or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in construction project estimating, project management engineering or project development.

Base Pay Range: $110,000 – 130,000 yearly

This position has been designated as Remote and work will be performed in the local office.
