Position: Senior Director, Business Development and Sales – C&I Solar and Energy Storage (Renewables, East-Coast)
Location: Remote, east-coast location preferred

Package: $150,000 – $190,000 + commission/bonus (OTE $300k+)

Important Note: You must have recent experience in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewables to be considered for this role.

The Role
Support the execution of the sales strategy in the commercial renewable energy sector. This role is integral in driving the mission of expanding sustainable energy solutions across the nation. Your primary goal is to lead the sales strategies in the C&I renewable energy and storage sector by originating a pipeline of solar and storage projects with target clients and markets. Your strategic vision and business development, sales, and origination expertise will drive the core business requirements and help them achieve their annual targets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the U.S. solar and battery storage market, with a proven track record in securing Power Purchase Agreements and developing strategic business relationships across various C&I markets, specifically across the eastern US.

The role of the Sr. Director of Business Development and Sales involves the following:

Strategic Guidance: Support the execution of the commercial team’s vision and strategies in line with our goal of expanding renewable energy solutions across C&I markets.

Market Insight: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to spot emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes to originate new business.

Business Development: Spearhead initiatives in securing Power Purchase Agreements, developing community solar projects, and exploring innovative renewable energy avenues including battery storage and rooftop solar.

Revenue Management: Drive revenue growth through strategic pricing, negotiation, and efficient contract management.

Relationship Building: Establish and nurture key relationships with stakeholders like partners, investors, and customers in target markets.

Team Leadership: Support the development and growth of a dynamic commercial team towards a culture of innovation and excellence.

Analytics and Reporting: Implement efficient reporting systems for tracking performance and aiding strategic decisions.

Required Experience
- 7-10+ years in business development, marketing, or sales, with at least 5 years in the Solar industry.
- Deep experience in the solar, storage, and EV C&I power markets.
- Demonstrated ability in mentoring and supporting diverse teams and managing large-portfolios of projects.
- Strong communicator with a proven track record of creating meaningful relationships with clients and partners in the renewable energy market.
- Proven record of developing and implementing sales strategies to drive growth in revenue.
- Extensive experience in solar Purchase Power Agreements and project development.
- Experience in private-equity-backed companies.
- In-depth knowledge of energy regulatory policies and M&A.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering; an MBA is a plus.
