SUMMARY

The Contract Quality Control Manager provides onsite quality inspections and oversite regarding solar project to ensure standards are upheld. This position reports to the Associate Director of Quality, or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position reports to the Irvine, CA office but will maintain a hybrid schedule of working out of their home office and job site. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 40% of the time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement the project audit schedule for all systems, products and/or processes at the jobsite;
  • Assist EPC team in the development and review of the project quality documentation, work processes and reporting of quality records management of quality documents;
  • Assist Project Management team in developing and maintaining a jobsite orientation program to ensure the project team and/or subcontractors are familiar with the requirements of the project quality;
  • Prepare and issue audit reports noting system non-conformances and verifying effective corrective/preventative actions;
  • Deliver audit assessment to PM and/or EPC Management and evaluate the need for any corrective/preventative actions;
  • Assess subcontractors’ capabilities to meet the quality requirements of the project as requires;
  • Responsibility for the performance of all inspection and testing activities as defined by contract;
  • Assure that the contract obligations for testing and record keeping are adhered to;
  • Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project;
  • Keep calibration records and ensure that all testing equipment has current calibration records;
  • Ensure proper turnover of complete quality control package(s). Responsible for ensuring that turnover documentation is maintained, organized and turned over on schedule;
  • Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project.
  • Establish and manage a field document control system for construction drawings (from home office Engineering), specifications, test and inspection reports, vendor data and as- built drawings;
  • Perform evaluations of subcontractors’ facilities, if applicable, to determine their capabilities in meeting the quality requirements;
  • Conduct periodic quality training for site supervisory personnel;
  • Perform all other duties as normally required by the EHSQ Department, and as required by day-to-day business;
  • Ensure document turnover occurs on schedule according to contractual requirements
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company’s attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience designing and implementing programs to manage Quality operational risks
  • 5 years of experience preparing Inspection and Test Plans, Quality Inspection Checklists, Work instructions and/or Methods of Statements
  • 5 years of experience identifying Quality Training Needs, designing Training Programs and delivering Quality Training
  • Experience in Quality Auditing and in-field quality management
  • Knowledge of Building Codes, National Electrical Code, and ASTM Standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction. Engineering, or related field OR, diploma and equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 preferred
  • Certification OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience working as both a subcontractor and a self-performing Contractor preferred
  • Quality, energy and construction experience preferred
  • Knowledge of PV Solar Plants structural, electrical, mechanical and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) equipment preferred
  • Experience with Smartsheet’s, E-Builder, Procore OR related Project Management software preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with data analytics: SQL, Tableau, Metrics Dashboards and/or Data Visualization preferred

EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
  • Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
  • Requires repetitive movement

SALARY RANGE FOR POSITION

The anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located in Irvine, CA is $38 – $42 per hour.

This job position is specific to Qcells USA Corp. only and not any other Hanwha affiliates. The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. If candidates are considered for a nationwide role, then the compensation range will follow the marketability of the job function within those states. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
