In this position, you will play a pivotal role in our Energy Trading Team, directly reporting to the Director. You will be instrumental in shaping and refining our power trading settlement reconciliation processes. A robust background in data analytics, particularly with SQL or Python, will be essential for thriving in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Settlement Management: Prepare, evaluate, and validate settlement invoices in collaboration with energy trading partners.
- Accounting Initiatives: Lead daily accounting tasks with a focus on shadow settlements for ISOs, RTOs, and counterparties.
- Trade Management: Oversee the checkout process for physical trades before scheduling with ISOs and RTOs.
- Financial Coordination: Manage financial and physical trading accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR) activities.
- Data Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis and cross-comparisons of power trading derivatives to support the creation of commercial disparity reports.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 2-4+ years in data analytics, energy trading, and power market settlements.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with power trading reconciliations, confirmations, derivatives, and AP/AR settlement validations.
- Communication: Proven ability to effectively communicate with power trading counterparties and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong skills in SQL, Python, and Power BI, with a focus on portfolio optimization and power trading dynamics across various energy platforms (renewables, solar, wind, BESS, natural gas, etc.).
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of power market pricing, hedging strategies, transaction structuring, and risk assessments.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with real-time energy trading, derivatives, power marketing, and transmission market operations, including NERC, FERC, and transmission tariff/compliance initiatives.
- Energy Market Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and CAISO).
Ideal candidates may have held titles such as Energy Trading Analyst, Settlements Analyst, Data Science Analyst, Credit Analyst, or Data Analyst.
