Position Overview: The Corporate Development and Renewables Project Finance Associate will support the growth and development of renewable energy projects by assisting in strategic initiatives, financial analysis, and project financing. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, financial acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to drive the successful execution of renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Support and Analysis:
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate strategies to expand the renewable energy portfolio.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify potential acquisition and partnership opportunities.
- Support senior team members in evaluating strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
- Project Finance:
- Conduct financial modeling and analysis for renewable energy projects, including project valuation and financial feasibility studies.
- Assist in structuring and negotiating financing solutions, including debt, equity, and tax equity financing.
- Prepare detailed financial models, investment memorandums, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Due Diligence and Risk Management:
- Perform due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including technical, financial, and legal assessments.
- Identify and analyze risks associated with renewable energy projects and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support the preparation of due diligence reports and presentations for investment committees.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, and operations, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Collaborate with external partners, including banks, investors, and advisors, to secure project financing.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project development and financing activities.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Monitor project performance and financial metrics, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to project finance and corporate development activities.
- Support the preparation of board reports, investor presentations, and other communication materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CFA certification is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, corporate development, or a related field, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including market trends, regulatory landscape, and financing structures, is highly desirable.
