Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The scope of this job is to support the land management efforts of the Business Development team in order to organize the necessary land documents and reporting needed to develop, construct and operate projects. This would include managing landowner line lists, tracking and updating acquisition statuses, overseeing land segments of the internal database, tracking land contractor budgets, POs and invoicing, reviewing title documents, tracking and pursuing curative documents, editing and reviewing documents, interfacing with Legal, Finance, GIS and other departments when necessary, attending necessary meetings and scheduled calls, researching records, assisting and advising Land Managers and Land Associates, and assisting field teams with landowner engagement, when needed. This position will also be integral in spearheading the land campaigns of any project all-hands or kick-off meetings by working with all other participating disciplines.

This job reports to the Land Director.

Key Accountabilities

  • Reviewing contracts, leases and other legal documents
  • Tracking and updating line lists, maps, and landowner information
  • Reviewing title and recommending curative issues
  • Managing contractors in preparation and recording of documents
  • Tracking budgets and POs
  • Researching records/locating landowners for special projects
  • Preparing reports
  • Interfacing with legal, finance or other departments

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

A Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years’ experience or 10 or more years’ experience in an equivalent field

Additional Requirements

  • The ability to manage and disseminate data in an organized and error-free manner,
  • The ability to review and understand title documents, the ability to compose complex reports for internal use and the ability to prepare and proofread legal documents to ensure that they are correct before execution and recording
  • Previous experience in a position that required heavy document preparation and review and/or that required tracking and reporting on large amounts of data; excellent computer skills, and proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with other disciplines to complete projects.
  • Knowledge of title and vesting
  • Ability to map via google earth or other land management software
  • Superior Excel skills for managing line lists and reports and Word skills for drafting of documents
  • Ability to independently direct and manage contractors on specific tasks
  • Excellent proof-reading skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Complete understanding of field team and internal protocols and procedures in order to bridge the two

The expected starting pay range for this role is $40.00 – $55.00 hourly USD. This range is an estimate and hourly pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education.
