Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Chemical Engineer to join our dynamic team dedicated to recovering rare earth elements in a rare earth metal refinery. You will leverage your extensive experience and contribute significantly to this cutting-edge process, ensuring efficient and responsible extraction of these critical resources for clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to optimize process parameters and minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate advanced materials solutions into production systems and liaise with research teams to explore innovative approaches.
- Conduct materials testing under simulated production conditions to assess performance and longevity.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and safety in production processes.
- Assist in running experiments and developing detailed mass and energy balance models, maintaining process flow diagrams, and techno-economic models.
- Contribute to the development and review of laboratory test plans for rare earth extraction and refining.
- Operate pilot equipment and support the design of commercial processes and equipment with a focus on safety.
- Support senior engineers in sourcing equipment and establishing project timelines.
- Ensure safe operations by designing processes and equipment with safety considerations in mind.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and documentation to communicate findings and progress effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in materials engineering within metals production or a related sector, particularly in high-temperature production environments.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose materials solutions that enhance production efficiency and sustainability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrating adaptability and efficiency in meeting project deadlines and objectives.
