A day in the life

You will be part of a dynamic Global Strategy and Analytics (GSA) function that partners with multiple groups within Prologis to move the company forward. Within the GSA team, everyone brings a unique perspective, and backgrounds that range from economics to urban planning to computer science allow us to leverage each individual’s knowledge and skills for a team that is greater than the sum of its parts. GSA includes four teams including research, valuations, advanced analytics, and this geospatial team.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Geospatial Analysis and Data Modeling
  • Develop and maintain geospatial databases in support of site selection and analysis
  • Develop geospatial models and workflows to identify trends, patterns and relationships that impact decisions
  • Identify and analyze potential business opportunities to create models that assess market potential, economic and market trends
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely and build relationships with internal teams including operations, customer led solutions, capital deployment, research, energy, advanced analytics and IT to establish and understand business needs and provide geospatial insight
    • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders through presentations and meetings
  • Standards and Innovation
    • Stay up to date on GIS and data engineering technology to ensure best practices and continuously improve analytical capabilities
    • Provide training and documentation to support fellow GIS staff on process and best practice to cultivate a culture of innovation

    Building blocks for success

    Required

    • 3+ years of professional GIS analyst and data engineering experience
    • Proficient in the Esri ArcGIS suite, including ArcGIS Pro in an Enterprise deployment
    • Proficient in SQL and Python to support in the curation of data pipelines and analytical models
    • Proficient in ELT design patterns, “Modern data stack” tooling and cloud data warehousing
    • Background in data products design and management with a data-centric engineering mentality
    • Ability to participate in meetings to offer creative solutions to business problems of increasing complexity
    • Ethical drive to enhance the culture of our team, department and company

    Preferred

    • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or a related field (or applicable work experience)
    • Snowflake and AWS
    • Tableau or other BI tool
    • Spatial Types database architecture and implementation in a data warehouse
    • Big data design patterns and tooling
    • Software development life cycle best practices

    Hiring Salary Range of: $88,000 – $121,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
