Position Specific Description

We are looking for a seasoned Data Analytics leader to help us deliver intuitive visual analytical solutions for Operations, Finance, and leadership by working closely with cross functional business groups and subject matter experts.

What skills would you need to be successful at this role:

  • Inquisitive mindset and ability to dive deep into business processes and identifying process optimization opportunities.
  • Ability to work with large datasets (Terabyte sizes) sourced from Relational and non-relational databases.
  • Understand the needs of stakeholders and develop strategies to ensure data quality, reliability in our solutions.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prototype solutions using tools like Excel, UXpin/Invision etc.
  • Working proficiency in tools like Excel, Power BI, SQL is a must have.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power platform or ability to learn on the job to help business groups is a must have.
  • Experience with Python or ability to learn on the job is a nice to have.
  • Exposure or experience working with Agile tools and practices is nice to have.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for leading the development of algorithms, modeling techniques, and optimization methods that support many aspects of NextEra and FPL business. Employees in this role use knowledge of machine learning, optimization, statistics, and applied mathematics along with abilities in software engineering with a focus on distributed computing and data storage infrastructure (i.e., “Big Data”).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership, set technical strategy, and identify possible uses of data science methods
  • Explain methods and results to upper-level executives
  • Develop machine learning, optimizations or other modeling solutions
  • Oversee related employee work, learn new techniques being developed
  • Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses
  • Works with big data and distributed computing platforms
  • Develops software and contributes to product development
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Doctoral Degree
