The Role
We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our Finance team and partner with the business. In this role, you will work closely with business partners to analyze actual performance against our planned performance. Additionally, you will support our target setting processes, and lead in the monthly preparation of reports & dashboards for leadership.
You are a data-driven problem solver who is excited to support leadership with impactful reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support the annual budgeting process, including coordinating with various departments to gather inputs, setting realistic targets, and ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Lead monthly meetings with department heads to review Plan-to-Actual variances for operating expenditures (OpEx) and capital expenditures (CapEx).
- Develop and manage rolling forecasts, ensuring accuracy and relevance to current business conditions.
- Provide detailed financial analysis on business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions in accordance with the budget.
- Create data visualizations to be used in presentations to leadership, the board of directors and prospective investors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 4 – 6 years of experience working in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity or Management Consulting.
- Excellent Excel skills (mastery of lookups, pivot tables, if statements, sumif, etc.).
- Ability to reconcile data from multiple sources and efficiently summarize reconciling items.
- Proven ability to join data from various sources and create dynamic reporting solutions.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work cross-functionally and be a team player.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to accomplish assignments simultaneously under tight timelines.
- Experience with structuring data and creating data visualizations (e.g. charts, graphs, etc.).
- Proficient with PowerPoint and/or Google Slides.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx and/or Power BI.
- Desire to work in a start-up environment with changing priorities
Bonus Qualifications
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree or active Certified Financial Analyst strongly preferred.
- Experience with SQL, VBA or other coding languages.
- Experience with Tableau.
The U.S. base salary range for this position is $137,000 – $183,000 plus benefits, equity and variable compensation for Sales-related roles. This range represents SPAN’s good faith estimate of competitively-priced salary for the role based on national, real-time industry data from companies of a similar growth stage. This range reflects minimum and maximum new hire salaries for the role in San Francisco county. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and individual factors including relevant skills, experience and education or training. This range correlates to the relative level of the candidate we believe we need for the role and may require an adjustment for candidates of a different level.
