Engineering Manager
Location: ONSITE in Maryland
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree of Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of solar PV project and team leadership experience
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and PV design, including plant layout and performance modelling, modules, inverters, racking, and DC/AC collection systems
- Strong skills in solar project optimization for performance, cost, and constructability
- Must be able to travel to project/client sites as required approximately 5-10%

- The Solar Engineering Manager will have oversight of large scale distributed generation solar PV projects
- Principal Duties and Responsibilities for Solar Engineering Manager
- Our client seeks an innovative and motivated individual that will have responsibilities during the construction process
- Manage a team of engineers performing project support and engineering design and oversight work
- Work with appropriate electric utilities to prepare and process interconnection paperwork; provide technical support and management of the interconnection process
- Review l technical drawings, specifications of PV systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
- Work with vendors to obtain and assess bids for major equipment such as PV system racking, transformers, and MV switchgear
- Review and markup necessary deliverables such as complete system designs, single line diagrams, equipment or material specifications, engineering validation, 3-D renderings, interconnection policy and electric tariff analysis, and energy production estimates
- Perform detailed energy production modelling calculations, string sizing, PV array to inverter matching, voltage drop, as well as orientation and inter-row spacing analysis
