Role Description

Process engineers at Form Energy are responsible for leading and supporting the initial operations production environment in all cell/battery assembly processes by providing data analytics tools to optimize line performance. You will use your strong background in data and process engineering within an industrial environment to integrate, share, and deepen process data systems for our first of a kind manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.

What you’ll do:

  • Deep dive into process data to discover correlations and trends, providing statistical analysis to improve production line KPIs.
  • Build tools to enable process and equipment engineers to enhance troubleshooting capabilities by identifying and addressing line-specific issues and correlating them with processes to impact output, yield, and quality.
  • Work lineside to validate MES/ERP systems, ensuring data integrity from the process to storage in databases, and documenting the full data cycle from collection to utilization.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and manufacturing processes.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
  • Ability to define data architecture in cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of MES/ERP systems and their validation process.
  • Hands-on experience with production line data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
