Overview Global Supply Manager, CAPEX / Indirect Material (Onsite role – Coolidge, AZ)

We are actively looking for a highly talented Global Supply Manager to join the Nikola Supply Chain Indirect Team in navigating our requirements for our Coolidge manufacturing facility. This role will have primary location and responsibilities at the Coolidge, AZ manufacturing facility with shared time at our Phoenix, AZ HQ.

In this role, you will build strong strategic relationships with our Coolidge facility key stakeholders and supply partners to ensure project timing and cost targets are met. You will determine the total cost of ownership for your commodities by understanding the underlying cost drivers supporting new business awards.

Responsibilities

  • include but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with our manufacturing team and vendors to obtain and develop desired products.
  • steering the sourcing to ensure continuous supply and availability of commodities.
  • Create material requisitions, purchase orders, and RFQ’s to meet departmental requirements.
  • Lead the sourcing and procurement activities from RFQ to implementation, in coordination with Advanced Manufacturing, on CAPEX production/assembly equipment.
  • Develop and implement a solid sourcing strategy for CAPEX investments and Indirect/MRO commodities that meets business and stakeholders requirements.
  • Keep detailed records of transactions. These actions create an easily accessible database of what has been purchased from whom, contact information, and particulars regarding costs and deliveries. Detect trend and opportunities within the supply base.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing and terms and ensure timely delivery of goods and services with alignment to the Global Supply Category Strategy
  • Analyze supplier proposals and negotiate all aspects of the quotation to drive down the total cost of ownership and ensure world class pricing.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner and coordinate goods returned for credit, repair, or replacement.
  • Establish supplier lead time, consumption rates, lot sizes, and shipping parameters.
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain up to date contracts/records.
  • Manage supplier relationships including monitoring supplier performance, competitiveness and take necessary steps to address gaps and resolves issues.
  • Track MRO spend and pricing to develop and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods are delivered on time and evaluate accuracy of invoices and receipts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering is required.
  • Related Work Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in Purchasing and Supply Chain ( MRO, Industrial Consumables and Services, Facilities and CAPEX).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels (verbal and written).
  • Effective negotiator with problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word.
  • Familiar with ERP system functionality (SAP S4Hana a plus).
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects while meeting critical timing schedules.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Manufacturing Facilities and Corporate Indirect preferred
  • Must be very detail oriented.
  • Must be highly motivated and comfortable with change and a fast-paced environment.
  • Understands the supply chain process to detect areas for improvement and streamlined processes.
  • Work collaboratively within internal teams to propose and implement solutions.
