Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Process Engineer to join our manufacturing operations team in our high-volume manufacturing facility in Weirton, WV. This role will contribute to developing our Form Factory 1 (FF1) manufacturing operations for our first-its-kind, advanced battery manufacturing.

This new position is part of a fast-growing team. It will ideally suit someone at the beginning of their career who has a solid foundation and is interested in working towards a suitable future. The team focuses on meeting FF1 operational needs, including facilities management, planning, and maintaining equipment and high-volume manufacturing lines. We will employ more than 750 people at FF1 and have an annual production capacity of 500 megawatts of our novel iron-air battery energy storage system.

The Process Engineer will work with cross-functional teams on the factory floor to identify issues on the production line and perform root-cause analysis. The main objectives are eliminating inefficiencies, reducing assembly time, and increasing productivity and yield. This is a crucial role in optimizing and developing processes and equipment for manufacturing products at scale.

If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, apply today! It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future by scaling our multi-day energy storage system.

This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, a short drive from Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Feedback challenges in manufacturing to our design engineering and advanced manufacturing counterparts for iteration in future products or designs.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering designs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering or related field with 1-4 years of demonstrated industry experience with a good foundation of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Process layout experience with basic SPC and FMEA knowledge
  • Good understanding of how to break down bottleneck issues on the line and root-cause analyses for recurring issues and implementing corrective and preventative measures
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired
