Description
The Fencing Foreman performs a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems. This position is for a fence labor foreman may delegate some duties to other competent individuals but is ultimately responsible for the following functions:
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Stage, measure and install fencing for PV systems
- Monitor and assist the workflow during the fence installation to ensure the project is completed on designated date, coordinate with management about issues, delays, or setbacks.
- Provide daily reports to construction manager on progress and goals using appropriate forms and communication pathways.
- Maintain all fencing, rental, or NES owned equipment on site to avoid failures caused by poor maintenance.
- Alert CSG managers and Human Resources of any potential personnel conflicts or injuries on site.
- Assist with the workflow of crews on site which can include scheduling with sub-contractors who may also be working on site.
- Adhere to the inventory policies, proper use, and maintenance of company-issued tools
- Preform the receiving of material or shipments to include safe unloading, checking material to Bill of Lading or Invoice, and maintaining paperwork for hand-off to construction manager
- Follow NES and OSHA safety regulations and adhere to safety training
- Provide on-the-job training to fencing crew
- Ensure quality of workmanship meets or exceeds minimum industry and NES standards
- Arrive to work punctually and diligently perform the duties and tasks assigned
- Open the site in the morning and close the site at end of day or have 1 designated site person to perform this function. This includes:
- Set up daily sign in sheets in a.m. and ensure labor hours are recorded properly
- Sign in on time to the appropriate task for proper tracking of labor hours
- Attend Toolbox talks and POD (Plan of the Day) meeting to uphold NES safety protocol on site.
- Complete and submit all JHA’s (Job Hazard Analysis), Incident reports, employee performance warnings, and activity reports to construction manager and HR where applicable
- Determine need and send in requests for additional materials, equipment, and personnel. Discuss needs with construction manager.
- Train employees on specific tasks for understanding, safety, and flow of work
- Be available for overtime or emergency response as needed.
Daily Activities:
- Assist with transport of all equipment to site, installing, String line, staking, piling, Silt fence, perimeter fencing,
- Use of remediation tools, and hand tools, heavy equipment not limited to, Skidsteer, post pounder, Excavator, Buggy, Company vehicles
- Set up and tear down of PD10 masts and GPS equipment
- Daily checks fencing drivers for compromised parts in need of replacement (documenting daily equipment checklists)
- Tear down of all equipment in preparation of demobilization and moving to next site
- Coordinate with construction managers for site plans, revisions, or project delays
