Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Balazs is seeking a Facilities Engineer to oversee the site operation, including maintenance and repairs, project management, improvement implementation and continuous operation of all facility and building equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all facilities are operated and maintained in a cost-effective, reliable, and safe condition.
  • Primary point of contact for the facility security issues and site emergency plan management.
  • Follow all Air Liquide and regulatory safety and quality rules and regulations and ensure all contractors do the same.
  • Responsible for completion of all Air Liquide required permitting paperwork for facility work.
  • Complete MOC (management of change) process for all facility work as required.
  • Responsible for safe and in-compliance execution of all facility related projects.
  • Ensures all on-premise customer requirements are fulfilled and maintained per contractual obligations.
  • Coordinates work with the facility manager for the neighboring Air Liquide site as necessary.
  • Maintains all infrastructure and compliance documentation including building drawings and specifications, and permits.
  • Maintains and develops SOPs to ensure compliance with established ISO, OSHA, Fire Dept., building, and electrical codes.
  • Actively participate in audits of the facility including Air Liquide internal audits, and external authority inspections and auditing bodies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards, report to management and implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility equipment.
  • Manages scheduled and unscheduled repairs, preventative maintenance, and calibration using an electronic maintenance management system.
  • Identifies and implements improvement opportunities to reduce facility equipment downtime and energy efficiency programs to reduce operational costs.
  • Generates reports on facility and instrument related non-conformances, discrepancies, out of tolerance reports, corrective actions, incident reports and near misses.
  • Works with all lab departments to identify and prioritize facility related projects.
  • Generates purchase requisitions for all facility work and performs receiving to ensure on time payment of vendors.
  • Works with FSS to identify and qualify new facility vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering.
  • Facility Management or AFE certification, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years facility management/coordination experience (technical operations, health, safety, environmental and quality).
  • Hands-on experience of facility system operation (equipment PMs, calibration and repair, planning and scheduling, management and administration of the federal, state, and local regulations).
  • Project management experience, including scheduling, budgeting and supervision of contractors and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Clean room and UPW system maintenance experience.
  • General construction experience, including using hand and power tools.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot focus and cope with several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to operate under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability during off hours, including weekends.
  • Six Sigma Lean expertise at the Green Belt Level preferred

The Salary rate range for this position in California is $105,000.00 to $115,000.00
