– Create and develop detailed mechanical designs for electrolyzer components and systems.

– Utilize CAD software to produce 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.

– Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.

– Collaborate with electrical and chemical engineers to integrate mechanical components with overall system designs.

2. Prototyping and Testing:

– Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and performance.

– Conduct mechanical testing, including stress, thermal, flow, and vibration analysis.

– Analyze test data and iterate on designs to achieve optimal performance and reliability.

3. Manufacturing and Production:

– Work with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.

– Provide technical support during the fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical systems.

– Develop and maintain documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.

4. Project Management:

– Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project milestones.

– Recruit a top tier mechanical engineering team to work with the R&D and process teams.

– Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.

– Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

– 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the electrochemical or renewable energy industry. (15+ years of mechanical design preferred)

– Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

– Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.

– Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.

– Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and additive manufacturing.

– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

– Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

– Experience with electrochemical systems and electrolyzers.

– Familiarity with FEA and CFD simulation tools.

– Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and safety.
