Job Description Circularity Fuels is looking for an outstanding hands-on generalist engineer to join our small team building, testing, and optimizing our reactors that convert CO2 from the atmosphere into renewable fuels. You will be working on all aspects of the system that involve formulating, heating, and productizing the materials that capture and convert CO2. This includes assembling mechanical and electrical experimental mechanical and electrical systems, devising experiments to test the performance of these systems, suggesting improvements to the system, and ultimately designing the highest throughput form to test the system. You will be responsible for implementing, testing, and optimizing the technology to help a team of engineers turn an R&D system into a reliable high-performance product.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, assemble and run mechanical and electrical reactor hardware
  • Translate requirements from engineering team into elegant experimental design
  • Optimize processes for manufacturing reactor core
  • Operate reactor control systems and harvest data from web-based systems
  • Analyze data and create actionable recommendations
  • Drive trade-offs, present different solutions and discuss pros and cons of reactor improvement designs

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Exposure to chemistry and materials science
  • Experience with hardware and sensor systems
  • Generalist mindset and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Experience designing and evaluating experiments
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools
  • Excellent communication skills

Desired Skills / Experience

  • Experience with hydrogen systems
  • Experience with safety and reliability critical systems
  • Experience testing resistive heating elements
