My client has become a leading Utility Scale Independent Power Producer (IPP) dedicated to advancing renewable energy projects across various markets.
Position Overview:
The Project Finance Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financing and development of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This position requires a deep understanding of financial modeling, project finance, and tax equity structuring. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the successful financial structuring and execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain complex financial models for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including detailed cash flow analysis, revenue projections, expenses, capital costs, and financing structures.

Build and refine tax equity models, including Partnership Flip, Sale-Leaseback, and Inverted Lease structures, to optimize tax benefits and returns for investors and project sponsors.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential projects, including market research, risk assessment, and financial analysis.
- Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders, lenders, and investors, clearly articulating financial outcomes and assumptions.
- Support the negotiation and structuring of project finance agreements, including debt and equity financing, tax equity, and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
- Analyze and monitor project performance against financial projections and identify key drivers and risks.
- Assist in the preparation of investment memos and other materials for senior management and board approvals.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to provide insights and recommendations for project development and financing strategies.
- Provide analytical support for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including the valuation of potential targets and the assessment of strategic fit.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, renewable energy, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on tax equity structuring.

Proven experience in tax equity modeling and structuring for renewable energy projects, including familiarity with various tax equity structures such as Partnership Flip, Sale-Leaseback, and Inverted Lease.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced Excel skills.
