The project:

This is an opportunity to work with Mace North America on a multi-billion-dollar transportation development in Austin, Texas. This expansive program aims to revolutionize transit throughout the Austin area with the development of new light rail systems and enhanced services across the city. The rail initiative is more than just a transit plan; it’s a community effort designed to create thousands of local jobs and provide greater access to healthcare, education, employment, and essential services, fostering equity and driving economic growth. With a shared passion for environmental conservation, the project is dedicated to sustainable practices, aiming to be carbon neutral by 2040, with zero-emission transit buses by 2035, positioning Austin as a leader in environmental stewardship. Youll be responsible for:

Health and Wellbeing Policy Implementation

  • Policy Development and Implementation: Contributing to the development and drive the implementation of comprehensive health and wellbeing (H&W) policies, procedures, guidance notes, and standards across the program.

Delivery Plans and Project Management

  • Execution of Plans: Ensuring the successful execution of delivery plans, programs, and projects, meeting planned timelines and budget constraints.
  • Operational Support: Providing robust support and guidance to the operational business units to enable effective local delivery of H&W initiatives.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with HR and Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) functions.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Working closely with senior leaders, HSW, and HR stakeholders to deliver cost-effective and efficient H&W performance.

Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyzing data from surveys, audits, KPIs, and other sources to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in H&W practices.
  • Continuous Improvement Plans: Identifying, developing, and implementing continuous improvement plans to enhance H&W outcomes and drive key business improvements.

Supplier Management

  • Supplier Performance: Managing relationships and performance of suppliers, ensuring that contractual arrangements are delivered to quality, time, and budget specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring all supplier engagements meet the organization’s standards for quality and efficiency.

Industry Knowledge and Innovation

  • Latest Research and Trends: Staying up to date with the latest thinking and research related to organizational health and wellbeing, applying new insights to enhance H&W strategies and practices.

Environmental Responsibility

  • Net Zero Carbon Transition: Collaborating towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Strategic Leadership

  • H&W Strategy Execution: Directing the strategic development and execution of H&W initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving transformational change in health and wellbeing practices.

Youll need to have:

  • Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programs in the rail sector.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

Youll also have:

  • Experience working in the rail infrastructure sector.
  • Experience in a director level position.
  • Industry qualification or chartership e.g. PgMP, PMI, CMI, DBIA.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or applicable field.
