Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Procurement, the USA Regulatory Manager is responsible to obtain and maintain freedom to sell Crop Protection products regulated federally by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for crop protection. Additional responsibilities may include regulatory oversight for adjuvants and biostimulants regulated at the State level.


Responsibilities

  • Develop the regulatory strategy for all Crop protection products (active Ingredients as well as End-Use-products) planned to be manufactured and/or commercialized in the USA.
  • Responsible for all EPA submissions. Oversee the registrations plans and distribute the submission workload between themself and a team of third-party regulatory consultants to ensure timely dossier submissions to meet commercial timelines.
  • Responsible for tracking submission due dates, agency response due dates, regulatory chronology, regulatory communications, regulatory costs and other metrics as needed.
  • Coordinates and participates in label preparation and review.
  • Identify potential regulatory issues on products or industry topics and take lead on internal communication and strategy development.
  • Engage on project teams, contribute to overall projects strategy, and provide regulatory support for development and marketing of CP, adjuvants and biostimulants.
  • Serve as USA regulatory business partner within FBN. Communicate and provide guidance to other departments and/or stakeholders regarding documentation format and global timeline requirements.
  • Provide relevant regulatory guidance to internal leaders and timely interactions with external regulatory agencies.
  • Proactively identifies areas of improvements specific to the USA regulatory registration process, or applicable globally, and proposes actionable recommendations.
  • Responsible for writing and implementing best practices and standard operating procedures regarding regulatory submissions/requirements as needed and in support of the team.
  • Maintains advanced and current knowledge of relevant regulations, policies and guidelines. Provides guidance within the regulatory department and/or cross-functionally relative to regulatory compliance of products and processes.
  • Represents FBN and participates in industry association as needed (e.g. Crop Life USA, AAPFCO, etc.).
  • Provide guidance to USA Regulatory specialists.
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Agriculture or minimum 5 years of experience with EPA registrations for Crop Protection Products.
  • Strong understanding of EPA and FIFRA registration processes and requirements
  • Minimum 5 years regulatory experience in relevant field (CP, fertilizers, biostimulants, feed additives, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, etc.), including min. 2 years experience with EPA for Crop Protection.

  • Passionate about agriculture, farming and desire to put Farmers First
  • Ability to work well within time constraints, able to effectively prioritize in a high demand environment within multiple locations
  • Have excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize a heavy workload, and pay attention to technical and administrative detail
  • Effective teamwork to support a positive communication flow within the Global Regulatory Team (as needed) and interactions with EPA front end screeners and reviewers

The following represents FBN’s reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $149,000-$182,000. This salary range may vary based on geography and the higher cost of labor in some metropolitan areas.
