Job Description

Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North Americas first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are Americas first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.


OVERVIEW

The Shipping clerk supports the warehouse operations by receiving incoming material, counting and inventorying items, and receiving and checking the contents of packages against packing lists and manifests. They are responsible for coordinating the activities of employees engaged in material handling, shipping, storage and transportation.


DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Filling customer orders according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Using computer hardware and software to generate labels and maintain equipment
  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments
  • Inspecting loading operations to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Directing movement of shipments to appropriate work areas
  • Ensuring shipping area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance factors
  • Coordinates all shipping and carrier arrivals
  • Processes all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and pick lists
  • Coordinates door assignment with shipping personnel
  • Works with Customer Service Reps remotely to coordinate shipment requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.


WORK AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  • Must be fluent in English; Bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
  • High School or GED required.
  • Must be able to climb, walk into and around trucks, warehouse inventory and other equipment.
  • Good communication skills; attentiveness to detail, including high-level of safety awareness.
  • BOL processing and shipping experience highly desirable.
  • Flexible schedule and must be willing to work overtime as needed/required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual English/Spanish desired
