What to Expect
Our Tesla Tours Coordinator are ambassadors of Tesla and our mission, enthusiastically educating our audiences about our history, manufacturing processes, industry, and revolutionary products. This role is responsible for coordinating and leading physical tours that could include: Technical factory auditing teams (third party consultancies, customers), Executive customers (investments relation, policy, customers, General Tesla employees (internal Tesla teams, new employee onboarding), General Tesla friends and families (support internal team morale/bring your kid to work day).

We are looking for a bright, energetic, and professional team player to represent Tesla in the highest regard, creating an exceptional experience for visitors at Megafactory Lathrop. Visitors may include: investors, suppliers, dignitaries, politicians, new hire candidates, and employees. Success in this role requires passion for Tesla and our mission, with an eagerness to learn about all facets of the company.

What Youll Do

  • Curate and guide the visitor experience in line with Tesla’s brand
  • Educate visitors on Tesla’s industrial energy products, mission, and our manufacturing processes
  • Help build and curate content for the Megafactory team
  • Understand and communicate safety procedures in a live production facility
  • Work cross-functionally to provide logistical support for in-person tours (and some limited virtual events)
  • Manage sales and inventory of Tesla merchandise and facility displays
  • Coordinate with external parties, from Friends & Family tours to hosting high-profile VIPs

What Youll Bring

  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortability with speaking to and managing large groups with many questions
  • Ability to interface with Tesla leadership and executives, which may include speaking to high-value customers and visitors
  • Significant work experience in customer service, sales, and the energy sector with energy storage preferred
  • Comfortable driving a tram or passenger van in or around a factory environment while simultaneously articulating unique production processes
  • Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment

Essential Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, lay, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
  • Potential exposure to confined spaced and hazardous materials
  • Frequently and repetitively walk around the surrounding Lathrop campuses to conduct tours
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines

Expected Compensation

$61,200 – $172,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
