Special Requirements:

You will be given extensive training on battery manufacturing, beginning with the Pack Line. As an essential associate, you will serve a vital role in launching manufacturing at Gotion Illinois and will serve as leaders and trainers for future Gotion Production Associates. The expectation of this position is to be open to learning and performing a wide variety of tasks, a willingness to work long hours at times, accommodate a varying schedule, and work on special projects.

The August group of new hires will travel to China for 4 to 5 weeks of live training at Gotion manufacturing facilities. These associates will learn about the Chinese culture firsthand while traveling with a chaperone. The targeted departure date for this trip is August 25, 2024. Gotion will guide the new hires through the process of obtaining a passport and a Chinese Visa as well as cover the costs. Gotion will also pay the cost of all travel, lodging and meals, and the employees will be paid for their work and travel time. Orientation regarding Chinese customs, laws, culture, food, currency, social interaction, training plan, travel plans, etc. will be conducted prior to traveling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembling battery packs.

• Perform spot checks and quality inspections; maintain accurate records.

• Conduct regular equipment cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance.

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S principles.

• Use tightness testing equipment as needed.

• Adhere to environmental safety protocols, including waste disposal and hazard recognition.

• Understand and follow material safety data sheets (MSDS) and emergency response procedures.

• Understand Post Environmental Factors, Hazards, and Control Methods

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.”

• 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

• Familiar with pretreatment quality, process and equipment requirements, and pretreatment quality inspection requirements.

• Familiar with application of steel ruler, tin side detector, outer micrometer, flake feeler, lateral digital indicator dials indicator and post other measuring instruments.

Physical Requirements:

• The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods.

• Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting to 50 pounds.

• Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip).

• Visual acuity including, but not limited to:

NEAR ACUITY – Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded.

FAR ACUITY – Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions.

DEPTH PERCEPTION – Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships to see objects where and as they actually are.

COLOR VISION – Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

FIELD OF VISION – Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
