Job Overview:

The Manager Benefits role is a tactical role responsible for creating and implementing policies and procedures while performing the day-to-day work and the management of high-performing teams involved in designing and providing benefits programs which may include the best options in health insurance, retirement plans, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and other perks. Guarantees compliance with guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs the day-to-day work and the management of high-performing teams involved in designing and providing benefits programs which may include the best options in health insurance, retirement plans, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and other perks.
  • Communicates with third-party services to negotiate benefit plans and resolve benefit-related issues. Researches benefits program options and presents the best options to stakeholders.
  • Ensures the integrity of the data required for successful administration by third party administrators including system audits and system testing including: new hires, terminations, status changes, annual enrollment, etc.
  • Ensures all benefit plans, reporting and disclosures are operated and completed in compliance with applicable government regulations, laws, and company policies.
  • Develops and manages budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently. Creates and maintains schedules while closely tracking milestones and deadlines. Creates and implements measures to control costs and optimize timelines.
  • Responsible for the hiring, mentoring, and development of a high-performing team. Provides guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members while promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in business or other related field
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in benefits
  • Construction industry and executive compensation in a publicly traded company preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant Federal, State, Local laws, regulations relating to benefits.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect data, draw conclusions, and effectively influence others.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to work effectively with senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives at the same time.
