Job Title: PV Professional Crew Member

Department: Construction

Reports to: PV Pro Crew leader

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm, some weekends potential OT, Ocassional Travel Required

OVERVIEW:
As a PV Professional Crew Member you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of an array of PV projects. Reporting to the PV Professional Crew leader, you will be responsible for maintaining vehicle cleanliness and organization, ensuring to provide support to the overall team preparing the correct and necessary equipment and materials, and assisting in site preparation and clean-up activities. Your role will involve supporting the installation team in various tasks, including material handling, equipment installation, and adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, you will interact with customers in a positive and professional manner while representing the company’s commitment to excellence. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to task completion. Your dedication to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism will contribute to the overall success of our projects and the satisfaction of our customers and a harmonious work environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • One year of experience within the solar or construction industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in electrical apprenticeship and/or roof apprenticeship is a plus.
  • Ensure work performed by all electricians is compliant with current NEC and local codes, and manufacturer specifications
  • Candidate owns, maintains, and uses their own hand tools
  • Positive outlook even when challenged with physically or mentally demanding situations
  • Works well in a small team environment and can take directions
  • Promotes and follows company policies/procedures and HIOSH regulations
  • Valid Hawaii issued drivers license and a clean drivers record (i.e., no DUIs in the past five years, no speeding tickets over 20 MPH, etc.)

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining vehicle clean by cleaning out all trash from the day before (cardboard), submit part returns, throughout the day ensures parts are put back in their place
  • Prepare for days work by filling water coolers with fresh water ensuring enough for team
  • Assists in pulling materials and tools as directed by the Supervisor. Prep and restock vehicle with install equipment and material
  • Assists with general site preparation and continuous job-site clean-up by putting up the tent and setting up work table, staging tools and charging them, pulling materials
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance, job site and communicates with the customers in a positive manner.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Crew leader on the status of task completion and is proactive in accomplishing all tasks assigned and those necessary for the job.
  • Participates in regular safety practices learns safety protocols to apply at job site Take directions from Crew Lead ex:
    • Take materials up to the roof by identifying with the crew leader what the parts and pieces are and when they are required to use them in the install.
    • Perform any preparation for rail installation: measure, cut and splice rail
    • Assist in layout by helping with chalk lines
    • Prepare the roof for attachment points by neatly cutting/lifting shingles where flashing will be placed.
    • Prepare lag bolts and washers to connect to flashings, install
    • Assist with geocell application on any of the attachment points to create waterproofing
    • Assist with mounting rails onto L brackets and leveling all racking
    • Assist with bonding all rails
    • Pass up panels
    • Setting up and breaking down job site
    • Run attic flex DC piperun and roof penetrations to j box
    • Performance any trench work
    • Install DC/AC circuits and conduit systems from roof box to inverter as approved by crew lead.
    • Pull wire and mount equipment (meters, disconnects, load centers, batteries, inverters, there and backs,monitoring)
    • Labels equipment as per code
    • Follow SLDs and Roof maps
  • Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, climb, bend, kneel, balance, stoop, walk and reach. The employee will frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Comfortable climbing ladders plus standing and working on residential roof tops (single and 2-story in both hot and cold weather.
