The Geologic Specialist I/II/III responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the execution of project-specific environmental investigations at the direction of the Supervisor or Manager
- Technical expert to manage multiple complex hydrogeologic investigations and remedial projects, including deliverables, consultants, and subcontractors
- Collect, manage, and organize field data, laboratory data, research, literature, and regulatory obligations. Assist with basic field data collection, data management, organization, and record-keeping
- Develop investigative and remedial strategies and recommendations
- Ability to organize observations to guide subsequent further investigations
- Spatial visualization skills to assess groundwater, soil, and stray gas information in 3D setting
- Ability to present and convey hard data and geologic concepts/findings to regulatory agencies, corporate managers, and stakeholders
- Must be able to differentiate significant and essential project priorities from non-time critical tasks. Situational awareness must consider safety, environmental, and stakeholder risk/liability
Required Experience and Skills:
- Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental science, Geology, Natural Resources, or related discipline
- Required Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in related industry, consulting, or regulatory, industry-specific safety training
- Required Travel: Possibly 50% to 80% within the EQT operating area
- Solid problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Communications – Strong writing capabilities and ability to clearly communicate verbally
- Multitasking and time management skills
- Field data collection and documentation. Knowledge of sample collection, preservation, and chain of custody protocols
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Basic knowledge and understanding of geologic concepts
- Assist with basic field data collection, data management, organization, and record keeping
- Experience with subsurface data collection
- Experience with groundwater and surface water systems
- Solid understanding of Oil & Gas regulations regarding environmental remediations in all operating states
- Experience with technical report writing and review
- Must show proficiency with basic software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Location:
This job is hybrid, combining field wellsite visits with remote home office work. Applicants must be PA/WV/ OH residents who can make the required wellsite visits.
