Job Summary
The Curriculum Coordinator (Academic Support Specialist III) plays a crucial role in supporting and guiding over 140 curriculum committees to maintain the relevance and alignment of our academic programs with industry trends and transfer requirements. This position provides information, support, and guidance to curriculum committees and/or college faculty in developing curricula that reflect best practices in curriculum design and comply with KCTCS BOR policy, rules, and strategic plan goals.
This is a defined-term contract position renewable each fiscal year and located in Versailles, KY.
KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time.
Job Duties:
Assist with logistics and implementation of the curriculum review and alignment process for technical programs and general education courses to ensure the curriculum effectively prepares students for their transfer and workforce goals.
Assist curriculum committees with completing curriculum submissions in the CIM software for new/revised courses and/or programs
Provide guidance, information, and technical expertise to curriculum committees throughout the process of creating, revising, and maintaining academic programs and courses.
Provide information and support to committees about academic success strategies such as competency based education, credit for prior learning, and work-based learning that impact curriculum.
Review historical curriculum data to inform the development of new curricula, ensuring an efficient and organized structure for programs and courses.
Collaborates closely with the Academic Program Office on the annual update of the KCTCS catalog.
Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and administrators to identify areas for improvement in curriculum design and curriculum development processes and offer creative solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum Development or related field and one (1) year of relevant experience or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Education, Curriculum Development or related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Additional Skills Requested:
Experience in curriculum development, higher education, or a related field.
Strong understanding of curriculum design, development, and assessment processes.
